The Broker - The Short Version
Tab Trade opened in March 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. The founder is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was in leadership at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection is relevant. It says the leadership knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. But better than someone with no brokerage experience.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix data centre access in London. Same data centres institutional desks use. Most new brokers focuses on ads and sign-up promos. These guys did the opposite. Interesting choice.
Market coverage: FX, indices, gold, silver, commodities, stock CFDs, crypto, exchange-traded funds. 1,000+. For a broker this new, that coverage is not narrow.
What You Trade On
You get: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a browser platform. Both MT5 and cTrader from a single account. Most brokers only give you one or the other. Getting both is useful. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is what most people know. Complete charts, EAs, huge user base. If you have used MetaTrader previously, there are no surprises.
cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Better depth of market. Smoother chart interaction. Built-in algo trading. Many people like it better than MT5 once they try it.
FIX API is there for algo traders but requires the VIP account ($25k minimum). TradingView is said to be in the works. That should be a good addition once it is live.
Accounts and Pricing
Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. Zero commission. Simple. Zero deposit requirement. Suits anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. Total cost: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On EUR/USD, the raw spread is frequently under 0.2 pips. So your actual cost per trade sometimes sits under half a pip. That is good for a broker with $0 to start. Most brokers that offer pricing like this require a minimum deposit. TabTrade does not.
VIP. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, execution under 20ms, tailored rates. Not something the average person. Ignore this one unless you run serious volume.
Execution Speed
The speed is the thing Tab Trade separates from most new launches. Equinix LD4/LD5. Sub-30ms execution on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. These are proper execution targets. Most retail brokers operate at hundreds of milliseconds.
Does this affect you? For short-term trading, yes. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is the difference between. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. But the fact that the infrastructure is there. That says what kind of broker this is.
Put together those fill times with the Edge account pricing and the overall offering is strong. Hardly anyone at this price point run Equinix connectivity.
Regulation
Now, the part that matters. Tab Trade is regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is offshore. No ASIC. No fund protection scheme. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a dealbreaker, stop reading. Lots of ASIC-licensed brokers out there.
But. The person running it built his career at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The execution setup costs real money. Fly-by-night platforms do not pay for tier-1 data centre access. This does not replace tier-1 regulation. But be part of your decision.
The trade-off: no FCA or ASIC safety net. In exchange: high leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether the trade-off makes sense comes down to your priorities.
